Tragedy Or Trend?
We all know that a women's hair is typically her crown and glory. Some go through great lengths to grow their hair, thicken their hair or even pay top dollars for extensions. Whatever the case we love to look good. Right? Or not?
OH YEAH THIS IS HOT!!! A HOT MESS! LADIES JUST SAY NOOOOOOOO
WHO DID THIS TO THIS MOTHER?
My question to many today is after going through so much to grow the hair that we have, could anyone explain why Invisible Parts have now become an urban trend of tragedy?
With more than 10 years of Professional experience it never quit went over well with me why anyone would do this to themselves let alone their hair.
Most importantly what kind of stylist would install such technique that causes nothing short of hair loss, breakage and thinning.
You should know that the crown area has always been an extremely sensitive part. Including the most fragilest other than your nape and edges. With your crown being sensitive since born known as the 'soft spot', even in your adult age you may still need to use caution when preforming any type of treatment or chemical process. This would include excessive stress, pulling or INVISIBLE PARTS!
I have attached a few pictures I found online....although I have personal seen some that were better looking (for the first week) I would NEVER as a professional stylist perform this one a client whom was:
A. Has been previously chemical processed
B. Has thinning, balding, or has visible stress areas in that area
C. On softer/ finer textured hair
D. On anyone seeking hair growth
At Hollywood Hair Clinics & Company LLC you could not come in to get this service. Because we believe in TRUE hair growth, we are care to much about our clients to do something that would cause damage. Sorry the money just isn't worth it!
But I like the Invisible Parts. What should I do?
Well like this attractive young lady to your right, she too seems to love her new due! However if your not convinced of the damage it causes your hair, than wear it and wear it well.
My stylist has been doing my hair for years! She would never put something in my hair that would cause breakage.
Hmmmmm my guess would be that wither she/ or he isn't aware of the damage ( I would hope) or it maybe time for another stylist. Any educated stylist couldn't possibly think this is ok? Really
So, how can I recover from this tragedy?
My professional advice would be to simply STOP! Please stop! With the rising number of hair loss causes in the US this seriously is a bigger issue than the overall appearance of this 'new trend'.
Your hair goes through cycles through the course of a life span It is defenitley true that we can cause of speed up our hair loss. This is something that will not only weigh those poor hair follicles down and although you may not see the long term affects immediately, trust me you WILL later.
TIPS BY ANNA T:
Please remember to treat your hair and visit your Professional Stylist regularly while you have extensions in as well as when you are giving your hair a break. Protein treatments are essential. A proper diet is a must when looking to get your hair to grow.
Ask questions! You should never be afraid to ask the person who you are entrusting your hair with a question.
If you notice breakage that wasn't there prior to visiting your stylist, please make note of it. You stylist should be able to track and evaluate any changes in their customers hair.
Build a good relationship with your stylist. Understand what her goals are for you. Every client SHOULD have a POA. Rather it be done verbal, mentally or written down in your client portal, this is very important.
My heart is truly sadden that more of us do not take better care of our hair or appearance. The purpose of this blog wasn't to offend or make fun of any particular person but rather to again educate my clients, stylist and community. Invisible part has only been seen in the urban community, which should tell you that most Professional people would never even think of wearing something like this. Have you ever wondered why?
Hair extensions were originally for the upper class man also viewed as a luxury. Now it seems that so many have cheapen the 'Hair Weave Experience' by bad hair installations, low budget techniques, lack of knowledge on weave maintenance and most importantly the use of cheap China hair:(
LET'S DO BETTER!
Don't be afraid to say NO to something your not comfortable with.
Never leave the salon looking like a clown. It's never a good look.
Your extensions should look as natural as possible. They should have plenty of mobility and flexibility to it. For the most part people should wonder rather or not it's your hair or not. Otherwise perhaps you should wear them?
Just a thought. You only grow so much hair in a lifetime. Why not make the most of it!
