Tailored Baldness Or Invisible Parts? You Decide...

Tragedy Or Trend?

We all know that a women's hair is typically her crown and glory.  Some go through great lengths to grow their hair, thicken their hair or even pay top dollars for extensions.  Whatever the case we love to look good.  Right?  Or not?

OH YEAH THIS IS HOT!!!   A HOT MESS!  LADIES JUST SAY NOOOOOOOO

WHO DID THIS TO THIS MOTHER?

My question to many today is after going through so much to grow the hair that we have, could anyone explain why Invisible Parts have now become an urban trend of tragedy?
With more than 10 years of Professional experience it never quit went over well with me why anyone would do this to themselves let alone their hair.
Most importantly what kind of stylist would install such technique that causes nothing short of hair loss, breakage and thinning.

You should know that the crown area has always been an extremely sensitive part.  Including the most fragilest other than your nape and edges.  With your crown being sensitive since born known as the 'soft spot', even in your adult age you may still need to use caution when preforming any type of treatment or chemical process.  This would include excessive stress, pulling or INVISIBLE PARTS!

I have attached a few pictures I found online....although I have personal seen some that were better looking (for the first week)  I would NEVER as a professional stylist perform this one a client whom was:
A.  Has been previously chemical processed
B.  Has thinning, balding, or has visible stress areas in that area
C.  On softer/ finer textured hair
D.  On anyone seeking hair growth

At Hollywood Hair Clinics & Company LLC you could not come in to get this service.  Because we believe in TRUE hair growth, we are care to much about our clients to do something that would cause damage.  Sorry the money just isn't worth it!

But I like the Invisible Parts.  What should I do?

Well like this attractive young lady to your right, she too seems to love her new due!  However if your not convinced of the damage it causes your hair, than wear it and wear it well.

My stylist has been doing my hair for years!  She would never put something in my hair that would cause breakage.

Hmmmmm my guess would be that wither she/ or he isn't aware of the damage ( I would hope)  or it maybe time for another stylist.  Any educated stylist couldn't possibly think this is ok?  Really

So, how can I recover from this tragedy?

My professional advice would be to simply STOP!  Please stop!  With the rising number of hair loss causes in the US this seriously is a bigger issue than the overall appearance of this 'new trend'.
Your hair goes through cycles through the course of a life span   It is defenitley true that we can cause of speed up our hair loss.  This is something that will not only weigh those poor hair follicles down and although you may not see the long term affects immediately, trust me you WILL later.

TIPS BY ANNA T:

Please remember to treat your hair and visit your Professional Stylist regularly while you have extensions in as well as when you are giving your hair a break.  Protein treatments are essential.  A proper diet is a must when looking to get your hair to grow.
Ask questions!  You should never be afraid to ask the person who you are entrusting your hair with a question.
If you notice breakage that wasn't there prior to visiting your stylist, please make note of it.  You stylist should be able to track and evaluate any changes in their customers hair.
Build a good relationship with your stylist.  Understand what her goals are for you.  Every client SHOULD have a POA.  Rather it be done verbal, mentally or written down in your client portal, this is very important.

My heart is truly sadden that more of us do not take better care of our hair or appearance.  The purpose of this blog wasn't to offend or make fun of any particular person but rather to again educate my clients, stylist and community.  Invisible part has only been seen in the urban community, which should tell you that most Professional people would never even think of wearing something like this.  Have you ever wondered why?

Hair extensions were originally for the upper class man also viewed as a luxury.  Now it seems that so many have cheapen the 'Hair Weave Experience' by bad hair installations, low budget techniques, lack of knowledge on weave maintenance and most importantly the use of cheap China hair:(

LET'S DO BETTER!

Don't be afraid to say NO to something your not comfortable with.
Never leave the salon looking like a clown.  It's never a good look.
Your extensions should look as natural as possible.  They should have plenty of mobility and flexibility to it.  For the most part people should wonder rather or not it's your hair or not.  Otherwise perhaps you should wear them?

Just a thought.  You only grow so much hair in a lifetime.  Why not make the most of it!

Sew in Weave Hairdos

Are you toying with the idea of using hair weaves? There are endless styling options when it comes to sew in quick weave hairstyles for women. All you need to do is select a hair weave. Hair weaves are available in real as well as synthetic hair. These are available in different colors and textures, so make sure that you use the one that matches well with your hair color. If you want a makeover, look for sassy sew in weave hairstyles with bangs. You can use straight, wavy or curly hair weaves interwoven into your hair to get a chic look. Those who have short hair can have medium and long weaves added to their hair. This gives you the options to try long hairstyles. You can then style your hair in braids or stylish updo hairstyles. Sew in weave hairstyles are extremely popular with black women. Among the black hair weave styles, braided hairstyles with weaves, curly weave hairstyles and straight hairstyles are some of the popular sew in weave hairstyles for black women. Many celebrities can be seen flaunting these sew in weave hairstyles for African American women. If you are thinking of trying out a weave hairstyle, you can go through weave hairstyles 2011 to find out more about the latest trends.

How to Sew in Weave Hair

Though you can always get a hairstylist to sew in weave hair to your natural hair, if you are not really willing to shell out money, you can go through these quick weave instructions to get an idea about this technique. Start by shampooing your hair in order to get rid of dirt and oil. Allow your hair to air dry. Before you start weaving synthetic or real hair into your natural hair, make sure that you decide on a weave hairstyle that you wish to style your hair in. The next step is to sew in weave tracks.

For trying out sew in weave hairstyles, you need to know how to braid cornrows. When you have braided your hair in cornrows or a zig zag pattern, use clamps to tie them together. Now you need to get hold of the track of hair weave. After cutting it to the length of the cornrow, get your hands on the special curved hair-weaving needle, and a long hair extensions thread. Thread the needle and tie a knot at the fag end of the thread. Sew the hair weft onto the cornrow by passing the curved needle needs under the cornrow and then through the track. Follow this method till you sew up tracks firmly to the cornrow braids. This was all about sew in weave hairstyles. When compared to other clip in hair extensions techniques, sew in weave hairstyles last longer, just make sure that you follow weave hair care instructions. Sew in weave hairstyling technique gives you the freedom to get a stylish makeover whenever you want. So, if you are bored with your look, style your hair in a stylish sew in weave hairdo and makes heads turn!

REAL Virgin Brazilian Hair? Or Chinese Hair? Does it REALLY Exist?

VIRGIN BRAZILIAN HAIR OR NOT?

Within the last 3 years human hair extension sales have more than doubled!  With the ever rising cost of hair many consumers have sought out to find better quality for a lesser price.
The beauty and fashion industry has taken a huge leap, tapping into everyone's individuality.  With thousands of new companies proclaiming to have 'The Very Best' hair weave, one may become very confused to as of where to purchase your hair from?
From your local hair store to now almost every stylist or consumer looking to hit a gold mine it makes it extremely hard to make a decision.  Have you ever thought about how and why all of the sudden almost anyone can get a hold to what they think is 'Virgin Brazilian or Virgin Peruvian or Virgin Malaysian Hair' at such an affordable price?

Could this be heaven sent?

The answer is absolutely NOT!  The purpose of this blog is to not only educate you as the consumer but to inform you of what many stylist don't want you to know!  In fact many of the stylist probably never did the research themselves nor tracked exactly where the hair is coming from.  Most stylist see $$$ and it makes sense if they make a profit.
However, with the economy trickling down and the gas prices spiraling up, it is imperative that we spend our resources on quality and not get caught up in quantity.

Stay away from these foreign websites that promise to deliver quality Virgin Hair Extensions.  Yes the pictures are tempting and the prices are impeccable but do you really know what your buying?
Have you ever spoke with these people directly?  Also are they able to tel you exactly where the hair comes from?
The answer is NO, NO & NO    (Perhaps you may get a call from a number you would never be able to trace back but unless you have a clear cut relationship with the supplier and are spending thousands, I promise you are getting nothing less than what the consumer could go online and purchase themselves.)

One thing any professional business owner should already know is, you have to sell or offer something to your buyers that they aren't able to purchase or do themselves.  For example, I see many local stylist still using Pump-It-Up, That blue oil sheen spray & even gels that are sold right at your local beauty supply store, Walmart and now even General Dollar!
So as a consumer I would ask myself, if I can purchase the same products that you are charging my double sometimes triple to apply why do I need you?  And what kind of damage could these products really be causing?

KITCHEN BEAUTICIAN OR PROFESSIONAL EDUCATED STYLIST?

Ladies & Gentleman this is what separates the kitchen beauticians/ ordinary stylist from the Professional Educated Stylist.
For so long Licensed Cosmetologist haven't been viewed as the skilled professionals they should be, because so many have given us a bad name.  Rather it be due to the fact that this is labor job or the fact that in times past very little education was required to become a cosmetologist.

Whatever the reason, in this day and time Stylist need to step their game up!

So what is Brazilian Hair?

Brazilian hair is nothing but Indian hair that has been soften by the supplier or textured to the consumers desired style.
What is Malaysian Hair?

Malaysian hair is Indian hair that has been treated with silicone to make it straighter and less tangly.

What is Moroccan Hair?

Moroccan hair is being marketing by Korean and Chinese companies to create excitement in the market, causing the consumer to 'want' and 'spend'.  This was an excellent way to generate more revenue but the fact still remains that is was all a lie!

(Moroccan hair is a mix brand that has been blended with synthetic fibers that will allow you to curl and style with medium to low temperatures.  This has has also been mixed with human hair.

So who knows the truth about this amazing news?

Almost everyone supplier/vendor knows the truth. However of course why would they ever tell and lose business?

Why are they promoting false information?

With so many regulations and oversee companies looking to make a quick dollar. They are willing to make the money and simply change the name of their company leaving us in the US frustrated, confused and looking for reimbursement usually when it's too late.
These companies realized that because of the distance and the legality between us, there is pretty much nothing we can do.

Is there anywhere to get REAL VIRGIN HAIR from?

Yes.  You are able to get the real thing by very very few suppliers.  I can assure you that the majority of stylist that are selling 'Virgin' hair are merely getting the hair from China:(  which is the worst hair to get!  Well of course this is the biggest secret that I have now unleashed but the important thing is to educate the consumer and help you $ave your hard earned money.
Here at Hollywood Hair Clinics & Company LLC we are proud to say that because we have a direct contact with the suppliers whom happen to be longtime friends with both my husband and I, we are fortuned enough to sale quality Virgin Hair that will last for years to come.

What to look for?
1.  First thing is pricing!  Honestly if you come across someone proclaiming to sell the BEST Virgin hair for an overwhelmingly cheap price, than honestly there is no way any business owner could sale take that lost.  Unless they have purchased the hair at less than $30 per unit which is not the real thing.
2.  Too many positive reviews on YouTube.  This has been a huge advertising tactic used by many.  Paid customers giving their feedback in exchange for free product or hair.  Unfortunately, bad news travels faster than good.  But even when a customer is unhappy, unless they have the time or have lost a large amount of money, they typically do not go through the hassle of posting negative feedback.
So stay away from a company with unrealistically fake reviews. (No matter how convincing).
3.  My professional advise is that it is never a good idea to order oversees unless you are ordering from Indian.  Indian has a little longer delay in shipping but the quality is so much better!
4.  Stay away from the Chinese sites, eBay and local stylist whom cannot educate you on their products original location and blending methods.
5.  Lack of response after your purchase has been made.
6.  Last if you have already ordered, look for shedding, tracks that are badly constructed or even if you should notice the hair being laced with synthetic fibers or other less than satisfactory things.  If you wear hair extensions you would definitely notice the difference between the good and the bad.

*Note to self:  be aware of the purchases you make.  If you are content with the quality you receive than stick with it.  You may find yourself trying several different vendors only to find yourself hundreds maybe thousands in the whole.

For hair order(s) call us!  A company you can trust.  We stand behind our services and will educate you on things you should know!

H&M: Conscious Collection

My apologies for my mini M.I.A episode...working, full time student, and being sick isn't the easier combo to tackle. Any who! Wanna know who has been receiving a lot of buzz lately? One of my favorite places to shop...H&M! The company was caught on the runway during the Oscar's as Helen Hunt flaunts a strapless, navy gown by this fast-fashion retailer. This is perfect timing as H&M launches their Spring 2013 Conscious Collection. Partnering with Global Green USA, H&M encourages their customers to bring in old clothing in order to receive discounts on future store merchandise. To you Eco-friendly shoppers, this Conscious Collection uses fabrics such as organic cotton and recycled polyester in hopes to raise environmental awareness. H&M will be hosting their first fashion show since 2005 here shortly (I will definitely keep you updated with that!). This brand is surely maintaining their successful, stylish reputation. Take a look below for Helen Hunt rocking that navy and look book pictures featuring model, Vanessa Paradis, from H&M: Spring 2013 Conscious Collection

Eastern Inspired

There is a lot of Eastern inspiration in fashion, lately (which I love). I'm obsessed with these trousers, the colors are soft, feminine, and the pattern is gorgeous. I recommend doing a scavenger hunt on Google to find some awesome Eastern inspired clothing. You should check out runway shots from New York Fashion Week, too! You'll be in front of your computer for hours admiring.

Men Long Hairstyles

men's long hairstyles. Posted by Ua at 7:57 AM 0 comments
As long as you're not enlisted in an Army, it's okay to have long hair. Back in the day, if a man grew out his hair, he was either frowned upon or thought of as a rebel. Traditionally, only women were allowed' to grow out their hair. It was just not acceptable for a man to sport luscious locks of hair. However, society as a whole soon began to relax the rules. Conventions and traditions were tossed out of the window. Both women and men began to break loose, come out of their shells, if you will. This was when the world was influenced by the looks of actors and musicians, it still is, by the way. The musicians especially almost always paraded their stages with enviably long hair. This created a tumultuous fashion wave that prompted men all over the world to grow their hair. This wave also led to the birth of different ways of styling long hair. Take the time! Read on to know more on popular long hairstyles for men.

Flowing Locks
One of the most common and most loved long hairstyles for men is the natural look. Here the hair is not tied or trimmed, it is just grown out over the shoulders. This hairstyle or the lack of one is easy to maintain and comes with the least number of complications. It doesn't matter if your hair is straight, curly, or wavy. Wearing your hair loose is the way to go here. Flowing locks of long hair are mostly sported by rock musicians, wrestlers, and skateboarders.

The Ponytail
The ponytail is a simple and convenient way of styling long hair. Here the hair is combed or pulled back and tied into a ponytail. The ponytail is easy to maintain and can be put together in a matter of seconds. The hairstyle is extremely popular amongst athletes, especially footballers, because of its flexibility. Most athletes don't grow out their hair because of the issue of maintaining the same. However, with the advent and popularity of the ponytail, maintaining long hair has turned out to be a breeze.

Braids
Single braids are a great way of styling long hair for men. They look attractive and are easy to manage. If you have long hair and desire to try out the braided look, rope in the help of a friend or a stylist. This will help you get to the much-coveted look. Braids are as versatile as a hairstyle can get. Braids are perfect for indulging in physical activities and will also not let you down in the boardroom. As far as hair goes, what more can a man want?

The Afro
The Afro may not be a conventional way of sporting long hair. However, many African-Americans opt for the natural Afro look in spite of it not being the most preferred way of styling long hair.

The Mullet
Technically, the mullet cannot be considered long hair. However, you will need long locks of hair at the back of your head to pull off this look. Here the hair is cut short in the sides and front of the head. The hair at the back is grown out and is styled to resemble a mullet or is tied into a ponytail. People with mullets will look like they have short hair from the front. However, one look at the back of the head of a person with a mullet will make it more than obvious that he's sporting one.

Dreadlocks
Dreadlocks, locks, or dreads are locks of hair that have been matted together. This hairstyle is mostly sported by the Rastafarians of Jamaica and the Sadhus of India. Dreads however were quick to catch on in the West, with everyone from musicians, hippies and average Joes' sporting the same. If you hair is thick or curly, dreads are the easiest way to get to a fashionable and desirable hairstyle.

Medium Straight Hairstyles | Straight Hairstyles

Medium Length Layered HairstyleBangs add an element of interest to any hairstyle. These give a very contemporary look to men as well as women. Hairstyles with bangs are great to have a spicy and sexy look and can jazz up even the plainest of hairstyles. Of course, hairstyles with bangs also depend upon the shape of the face. The Devil Wears Prada' star, Anne Hathaway sported shiny bangs with great lan as Andrea, which definitely spruced up her looks and went in co-ordination with all the designer outfits.

Well, the average person is not aware that even bangs exist of different variations! The different types of hairstyles with bangs largely depend on the way the bangs are styled and even the texture of the hair. The shape of the bangs can help to highlight the features of the person. These also need to be planned according to the individual seeking to sport this style.

Hairstyles With Bangs:

Straight Bangs:
Straight bangs can be combined with a variety of hairstyles. These cover the foreheads and bring attention to the jaw line and lips. Hairstyles with straight bangs help to make a large forehead appear small. A normal ponytail can look spicy when combined with straight bangs. Here, the hair needs to be combed straight down and styled around the brows. The length of straight bangs is generally short or medium length. Remember, that straight bangs have no angle to them. These are somewhat common and popular because they can be combined with many other hairstyles.

Short Bangs:
These go well with short hairstyles. Here, the short hairstyle can be choppy with layers. For such wild haircuts such as these, you can opt for short bangs that can stick out and spice up the wild nature of the basic hairdo. These bangs can be made to look equally spunky in the particular manner of combing them. These can also go with short sleek hairstyles and can be twisted and given a slight angle in case of straight hair.

Bangs with Partings:
Bangs with partings can provide new looks for the individuals as compared to the regular bangs. Parted bangs go well with any face shape. These can be combined with different hairstyles and you would not have to think if you face shape is round, oval, square or heart shaped. These are versatile and can add glamour to any normal hairdo. Bangs can be straight, wavy, wispy or even blunt. These can be wild and wacky as well. If you are having a short hairstyle and the basic texture of the hair is curly, you can have short bangs and part them in the middle to bring a definition to your face. If you have long straight hair and need to get a new look without really losing the length, you can opt for parted long bangs. For these bangs, you can even have uneven edges as straight hair tend to fall flat out on the face. Parted bangs thus help to bring attention to the eyes, so you can highlight your eyes with a hint of mascara and eye shadow.

Side-Angled Bangs:
These work well when hair is let loose or tied up as well. These types of bangs are angled and brushed towards one side of the face. These require more combing and sometimes the use of gel or other hair products if you really want the bangs to stay that way for the night out. For bangs that need to be angled towards one side, you may need to grow them a little longer. An important tip: you can twist and scrunch up your hair and add a glamorous pin to the back and brush the bangs towards either side for an elegant look.

Popular Long Hairstyles for 2013

Avril Lavigne is wearing her hair in a simple long hairstyle while attending
The long hair is one of the most envied hairstyles around - everyone wants long hair. It is the pinnacle of a woman's beauty according to the Indian culture (notice that many Indian women carry long hair), and the sign of a woman's health according to western cultures. In Hollywood, long hair is the new fashion 'it' and we have likewise seen many celebrities abandoning their formerly wild and crazy hairstyles for the more traditional and feminine long locks.

With the long locks, you get to choose from and almost endless list of possible styles irregardless of if you have straight hair or curly hair, wavy hair or frizzy hair. You can also get away with just about any hairstyle if you have long hair - whether you choose to let it fly loose or pile it up high.

One of the more popular hairstyles that women with long hair are trying is the layered look worn loose. While this look can be applied to basically any hair type, it is highlighted best on the woman with wavy hair. The layer is typically trendy when the ends are either flipped inwards or outwards - the wavy hair is easy to groom into those positions. While the straight hair also flows nicely with a layered cut, it is more difficult to get it to keep the ends styled inwards or outwards. Layers would go completely unnoticed on the woman with curly or frizzy hair, although it may be a useful cut to take off some of the extra bulk of the hair so that it does not overwhelm the smaller or finer woman.

Long curly hair can be very easily worn open either gently clipped behind in a crowned effect, or left completely open. Long straight hair is also very pretty when worn opened. The frizzy hair on the other hand would be very difficult to maintain when open so most women with long frizzy locks tend to stay away from the hairstyles which require them to be kept open.

When worn up, the long hair can be easily pulled into a pony for that quick casual run out (messy or unkempt ponytails are a bit more appealing than tight severe ones) or tightly piled high with soft tendrils framing the face for that special occasion out. The long hair, regardless of its texture (curly, straight, frizzy or wavy), can be braided, pulled into a loose sophisticated knot at the back of the neck, French twisted, or simply clipped into a bun at the crown of the head. By no means is this list exhaustive - you can come up with just about any style for any occasion for your beautiful long hair that would simply be the envy of the event.
