HAIR LOSS FOR CAUSE DUE TO STRESS?

Yes, stress and hair loss can be related.

Out of three types of hair loss that can be associated with high stress levels are

Alopecia Arata
Telogen effluvium
Trichotillomania

Alopecia Arata means bald patches or  hair loss in areas. The word alopecia  arata refers to any type of hair loss, thinning hair or baldness in any hairy region of the body.   The most current medical studies have concluded that alopecia Areata are caused by an abnormality in the immune system. Baldness tends to be a more specific term among lay people as it usually refers to hair loss on the scalp – however, it can mean hair loss in any part of the body. Hair is made of a type of protein called keratin  In the majority of cases hair loss is a normal process of aging and not a disease.  Because it is not seen as life threatening to doctors it is often disregarded. Treatment is not necessary if you are comfortable with your appearance.  Thankfully for most men, modern medicine provides new treatments that help delay hair loss.  Remember that most of the hair loss treatments available on the market these days are most successfully applied by those who haven’t waited too long to do the right thing for their condition. This is unfortunate because hair loss can cause serious distress in some people, with some far reaching psychological effects.  In some cases hair loss may be a consequence of some medical treatment especially cancer treatment drugs – when the hair loss is generally temporary.

These are three types of Alopecia Areata which are named according to their severity.

-         Alopecia areata is mild patchy hair loss on the scalp
-         Alopecia Totalis is the loss of all scalp hair
-         Alopecia Universalis is the loss of scalp and all body hair.

The type of Alopecia areata before treatment, duration of the disease and the present of nail changes were found to predict a lower response to treatment.   Controversy exists concerning whether atopy is an adverse prognosis fact. In that moment the Alopecia sufferer was not expecting another path to happen and all because of the consequence of insensitive people this led into a state of depression for the Alopecia sufferer.  Some people may choose not to run and hide or become paranoid but more often than not sad emotions are likely to take over no matter how strong you are.
A single hair consists of a hair shaft, a root below the skin and a follicle from which the hair root grows.  At the lower end of the follicle is the hair bulb, where the hair's color pigment or melanin is produced.  Hair loss occurs mostly on the scalp.  But it can involve eyebrows, eyelashes, beards - any hair bearing site.  Patches very in size.

Today's modern civilization has introduced various environmental problems that can inflict hair weakness and distress.  Factors that affect the health of your hair include air pollution and artificial lighting dry air and harmful UV rays.  Lifestyle factors that can damage your hair and promote hair loss include inappropriate dietary supplements, harsh health care product brought over the counter, poor diet, medications and daily stress levels.  Chemicals, such as dyes, bleaches, strengtheners and permanents can damage the hair if used too often or left on too long.  Even shampooing, brushing and combing can harm the hair if done too roughly.  Hairstyles that pull the hair, such as tight ponytails and braids also put a lot of stress on it.  Mistreating the hair in any of these ways can lead to temporary hair loss.

Alopecia Areata is a variety of factors are thought to cause alopecia areata, possibly including severe stress.  With Alopecia Areata white blood cells attack the hair follicle, stopping hair growth and making hair fall out.

The scalp hair grows about half an inch per month, although this growth rate slows as people age.  The growth stage lasts for 2 to 6 years.  It is followed by a resting stage, lasting for 3 to 3 months during which the hair still is attached but no longer grows.  After the resting stage, the hair falls out and a new hair starts to form in the same spot.

Whether believe it or not most women have excess calcium in their tissues at least in relation to magnesium.  Eating too much sugar is one the major reasons for this calcium imbalance.

Female hair loss may also occur due to dieting.  Franchised diet programs which are designed or administered under the direction of physician with prescribed meals, dietary supplements and vitamin ingesting have become popular.  Sometimes the client is told that vitamins are a necessary part of the program to prevent hair loss associated with dieting.

Both men and women produce male hormones.  The tree most common are testosterone, androsteinedione, and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Hair follicles, as well as the sebaceous glands, contain  high levels of an enzyme called 5 alpha reductase.  The enzyme converts testosterone into DHT, via the blood.  DHT is the source of most male pattern balding.
The most common type of hair loss seen in women is Androgenetic alopecia, also known as female pattern alopecia or baldness and alopecia areata.  Female androgenic alopecia has also been referred to as female pattern baldness.  It most often presents as diffuse thinning g without hairline recession, and like its male counterpart rarely leads to total hair loss.
